Hosted by the ALTA-Program and in partnership with the Yerwood Center and the Stamford Public Schools, the INTAKE Native Instrument Academy is a 17-session music program that teaches 40 high school students to perform and appreciate classical music through the use of native instruments from a variety of cultures in diaspora.
Held every Saturday between 10AM-12PM at Stamford’s Yerwood Center, the project is aimed to provide extra-curricular support to their academic program to encourage students to become leaders in their community and to gain an appreciation for the arts and for their own and other’s culture. The INTAKE Music program will begin on November 3 and will culminate with a final performance with INTAKE Music students on April 6, 2013.
